Having a good morning routine can give you more structure, save you time and will bring you comfort and peace. It will help you be more mindful with your time instead of rushing around. It’s the key to starting your day in the right way. By following a routine YOU get to decide how you spend your time. The importance of a morning Routine
Creating a proper morning routine is essential, it can make all the difference in being productive, achieving goals, feeling organized, and doing all of this with confidence. It will set the tone of the day and it starts the minute you wake-up until you do your first chore of the day. But how to create a morning routine that works for you?
Well, it takes some commitment and discipline, but with these 5 tips, we are sure you can build your morning routine and change your life!
1. Wake up earlier
Set your alarm 15-30 min earlier than you are used too. Give yourself some extra time in the morning just for you. Promise yourself to get up and DON’T use the snooze button!! It can be tempting to hit that snooze button so you can lay in bed just a little longer, but 15-30 min extra time in the morning can make a world of difference!
2. Start your day mindfully
The first 10 min after you wake up are the most influential, so its important to spend the first few minutes mindfully. Try to avoid technology, no scrolling through Instagram, or checking your e-mail. This can make you feel overwhelmed and rushed. It’s a hard habit to break, but try to start your day with meditation and setting an intention instead. Meditation can be the perfect way for you to visualize your goals and aspirations for the day. Use your affirmations so you can start your day mindfully and in a positive way!
3. Nourish your body
Start your day with a big glass of water. Your body will thank you for that as your body is made of 60% of water and after 7-8 hours of sleep, your body needs some hydration. Besides that take some time for breakfast! It’s the most important meal of the day. Fuel your body with some healthy and nourishing foods which will give you the energy you’ll need to start your day off right!
4. Move your body
You have been sleeping all night so waking up in the morning your body can feel stiff. Take some time out to actively move and stretch your body. This will improve your circulation and will improve your muscle and joint flexibility. You can do this with a short 5 min yoga routine. It's a great way to start your morning as it will gently wake up your body and will leave you with a lot of energy throughout the day!
5. Plan ahead
Take about 5 minutes every morning to write down a to-do-list with all the things you want to accomplish that day. Making a list will help you organize your thoughts, it will give your day structure, allowing you to prioritize and achieve more. Start your day with the most important and difficult task. Finishing this will give you a boost as soon as you mark it off, which will motivate you to get even more out of your day!
Whatever works for you
Everyone is different and some tips will work for you and others won’t. If you are new to a morning routine, start slowly with implementing habits what will work for you. Keep practicing and trying different things till you find the perfect routine to start your day with. Consistency is key so over time your routine will feel more and more natural. Remember It’s oké if you sometimes skip some of the steps or do them later on the day, depending on how much time you have in the morning.
