7 Days of Self Care

Autumn has officially started, the weather is getting chillier and we are enjoying the last days of sunshine. We are slowly preparing ourselves for days where we see less daylight and spending more time indoors.

The colder, darker months can have a big effect on our (mental) health, that's why it's important to take extra care of yourself, just to keep our immune system up and fight any type of seasonal depression!

Following a self care routine can help you keep your energy levels up and spirit high!

MONDAY: Write down your goals.

Start your week right with and put your pen to paper and write down goals you want to work on this week. By writing down your goals You are 42 percent more likely to achieve your goals if you write them down. Stop wasting your time and energy and become clear on what, exactly, it is that you want to accomplish!

TUESDAY: Put down your phone

Take some time away from your screens. Our phone and computer can cost us a lot of energy and can make us feel stressed and anxious! That’s why it can be good to Turn off your phone and spend some time offline. Spend some time with friends or family or go for a nice long walk in nature, this can leave you feeling refreshed and energized.

WEDNESDAY: Nourish your self

Make an effort to take care of yourself physically. Stay hydrated by drinking a minimum of 8 big glasses of water. Cook your favorite healthy meal, nothing can make you feel better than a nice home-cooked dinner!

THURSDAY: Take rest

Having a well-rested body and mind can help you throughout the darker and colder days. Aim for 7-9 hours sleep a night. If you find it difficult to fall asleep at night try to create yourself a nice evening routine. This could be writing in a journal to reflect on the day or finish up with a 10-minute meditation. This will help you wind down for the evening and create a peaceful sleep environment.

FRIDAY: Move your body

We all know exercise is good for us. Exercise can help you not only physically but also mentally, boosting your energy and reducing stress and anxiety!

Even an hour a day can make the difference! Choose your favorite way to move your body, this could be a simple walk in nature, try a new workout in the gym, or do a relaxing yoga flow, to stretch and destress your body!

SATURDAY: Spend time alone

Spend some time alone and do something just for you! Something that makes you happy. This could be anything from reading a book, meditate, or stay in bed and watch your favorite movie. Spending time alone can be one of the best things you can do for yourself. Take a moment to take a step back and recharge yourself!

SUNDAY: Practice Gratitude

Reflect on your week and make a list with all the things you can be grateful for. Practicing gratitude daily will help you raise your vibrations. Think good things and you will notice that you will increase the good things that happen to you. This will help you set the tone for a brand new week!
